The head of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, insists they are 'very confident and relaxed' about working with Donald Trump ahead of the 2028 LA Games - despite previously making disparaging comments about the president-elect.
Trump will be in the Oval Office when the Olympics returns to the United States for the first time since Atlanta 1996.
During Trump's first term, Bach made his feelings clear about the 78-year-old following a meeting at the White House in 2017. 'Pray for our world,' Bach was heard to say.
Despite his previous comments, the IOC chief this week heaped praise on Trump as the new administration prepares to takes charge.
'We are very confident there with regard to the steps and efforts being undertaken,' Bach said on Thursday.
'We saw also that President-elect Trump repeatedly declared his support for the games, which we never had any doubt because he has declared this support from the very beginning.'

Trump, who recently beat Kamala Harris in the presidential election, has since taken credit for bringing the Olympics back to the United States.
Earlier this week, Trump also made a special appearance at the draw for next summer's soccer Club World Cup.
The incoming president delivered a special message to the crowd in Miami via video, in which he hailed FIFA boss Gianni Infantino as a 'winner.'
'The event is going to be incredible. I will try and be there if I can, I would, we'll see what happens,' Trump said of the inaugural edition of the post-season tournament, which will be held in the US.
'But I just want to say you're led by a man named Gianni, I just know him as Gianni and he's a winner and he's the president and I'm the president.
'We've known each other a long time and I'm so honored to have this kind of relationship because soccer is going through the roof as everybody knows.'
