NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The 2024 Atlantic hurricane season is the busiest it’s been all year. Three named storms have formed with Helene making landfall in Florida as a major Category 4 hurricane.

Helene is the fourth hurricane to make landfall and the second major hurricane in the Atlantic basin this year. It will also be the strongest of the year with winds approaching 130 mph.

Isaac is a tropical storm that’s expected to stay in the Atlantic and head east away from the United States. It’s slated to strengthen into a hurricane before dissipating within the week.

Joyce formed off the coast of Africa. It will take the path around a ridge of high pressure in the Atlantic, keeping it out to sea.

If a hurricane doesn’t hit landfall does it make a noise?
