A reckless Mercedes driver trying to beat the light whizzed through a Bronx intersection and mowed down four pedestrians — killing one — in a wild broad daylight scene Friday, law enforcement sources said.

The driver was heading west on Allerton Avenue when he blew through a steady red light at the Holland Avenue intersection around 2:15 p.m. and hit four women — between the ages of 50 and 60 — crossing in the crosswalk, according to the sources.
