Overwatch 2 is giving out up to five loot boxes that players can unlock for a limited time. Here’s how you can get them.
Overwatch 2’s Season 15 has been met with some of the biggest changes. Not only did devs introduce a Perks mechanic, which allows players to switch things up regarding hero abilities, but they’ve also added loot boxes back to the game after all these years.
Loot boxes are one of the ways you can grab free cosmetics. Although they give them out random items, they’re definitely a welcome addition as players have managed to unlock a plethora of rare skins, and even weapons, that haven’t been available in the shop just from them.
Now, if you’ve run out of the loot boxes yet can’t resist the urge to open some more, you’re in luck, as Blizzard is giving away more loot boxes – though you better be quick as they won’t be around forever.
How to get Overwatch 2 loot boxes from Twitch Drops
Blizzard has announced a new Twitch Drops campaign. Instead of getting a specific skin, however, players can snatch up to five loot boxes from it.
To unlock these loot boxes, all you have to do is watch Overwatch 2 livestreams on Twitch until you’ve hit the minimum required hours.

You might get lucky and unlock extremely rare skins from loot boxes.
Below, you’ll find more details about the minimum hour for each lootbox available.
- Watch for 2 hours and claim the reward Lootbox
- Watch for 4 hours and claim the reward Lootbox
- Watch for 6 hours and claim the reward Lootbox
- Watch for 8 hours and claim the reward Lootbox
- Watch for 10 hours and claim the reward Lootbox
These rewards will be available from March 17 until March 30, 2025, so you’ll have time to unlock them till then.
As usual, you can track your progress by clicking your icon at the top right and selecting the “Drops and Rewards” tab from the drop-down menu.
Other than that, you’ll also want to make sure you’ve linked both your Battle.net and Twitch account so you can receive the rewards in-game. Follow the steps below if you haven’t done so already.
- Login to your account via the Battle.net site.
- Select Connections on the left tab.
- Scroll down until you find Twitch, and click the “+Connect” option.
- Follow the rest of the instructions.
Once you’ve done that, you should be able to receive your rewards in-game. However, do keep in mind sometimes they may take a while to show up, so in that case, you’ll want to wait it out.
