In Naples, Italy there is a museum containing the artifacts from Pompei. Most of the artifacts are sexual. And that was about 70 AD. Though the Roman Empire did exist for a couple of more centuries.

I have two books I purchased years ago. Eros in Pompeii The Art of Pompeii. They have a great eye witness description of the volcano tragedy which is the only reason I bought them. Honest! Cross my heart!

I knew it was important.

Chasity until marriage and Monogamy reduces the number of sexless single males and the inherent evil it creates. As seen have in almost all mammalian groups.

Monogamous marriages raises more kids and does it better (see effect on the African American community running 70% single mothers).

It creates generational wealth. Etc

But DAM… I didn’t know the lack of it (and debauchery) signified imminent civilizational collapse.
