Puerto Rican reggaeton star Ozuna headlines a 13-hour Halloween festival outside San José, and the venue sits a short drive from the airport most US flights use.

Ozuna plays Costa Rica on Saturday 31 October 2026 as the headline act of the Electric Animals Halloween Fest at the Centro de Convenciones de Costa Rica in Heredia. For a US visitor, the Ozuna Costa Rica date is easy to fold into a long weekend: the convention centre lies on the main highway between San José and Juan Santamaría International Airport, tickets are on general sale, and the cheapest concert pass was announced at about US$64.

The show is the singer’s second Costa Rica date of 2026, according to the local broadcaster Teletica. Ozuna opens the night, which then continues with an electronic line-up headed by Ben Böhmer across five stages until six in the morning.

Below are the confirmed facts, the costs in dollars and the details that the organisers have not yet published.

What the Event Is and Why It Matters

Electric Animals is a Costa Rican electronic music festival. For Halloween 2026 it has teamed up with the production company MagFlow to put a major urban music act at the front of the bill.

The organisers describe it as the largest edition of the festival so far, according to El Observador, which reported the prices when the presale opened on 3 September. On 30 September the organisers named the electronic headliners: Ben Böhmer (live), Shermanology, POPOF, Stella Bossi and Solardo, spread across four Electric Animals stages, with Ozuna on a fifth stage, La Explanada, according to Tico Urbano.

Ozuna is a Puerto Rican reggaeton and Latin trap singer with more than a decade in urban music, Teletica notes. He arrives as part of his world tour, Una Aventura.

Teletica reported that the set list is expected to include “Se Preparó”, “Baila Baila Baila”, “Caramelo”, “El Farsante”, “La Modelo”, “Taki Taki” and “Criminal”. “Taki Taki”, the DJ Snake single on which Ozuna appears with Selena Gomez and Cardi B, is likely the song best known to US listeners.

The date also matters locally. In Costa Rica, 31 October is National Masquerade Day (Día Nacional de la Mascarada), marked with traditional masquerade events in towns around the country, and La Nación notes that Costa Ricans now celebrate Halloween alongside it.

A visitor arriving a day or two early can see both sides of the holiday: a folk tradition in the towns and a large-scale party on the highway.

Sam Zahedi, a producer at MagFlow, told Teletica in July that the team was “preparing a world-class experience” and asked fans to follow the official MagFlow and Electric Animals channels for ticket news. That is still the best place to watch for changes.

Tickets and What They Cost in Dollars

The organisers split the night into three products, plus premium options. All figures below are the announced starting prices; Teletica notes that prices depend on the sales phase and category and are subject to availability.

Dollar values use the Central Bank of Costa Rica (BCCR) MONEX average rate of ₡452.92 per US dollar on Friday 9 October 2026.

  • Concert only (Ozuna on La Explanada): general from ₡29,000 (about US$64), VIP from ₡44,000 (about US$97).
  • After only (the Electric Animals party that follows): general from ₡19,000 (about US$42), VIP from ₡35,000 (about US$77).
  • Full Access (concert plus after): general from ₡38,000 (about US$84), VIP from ₡52,000 (about US$115).
  • Backstage All Access from ₡75,000 (about US$166); tables from ₡450,000 (about US$994).

Tickets are sold only through Publitickets, according to both Teletica and El Observador. Buy there rather than from resellers on social media.

Costa Rica’s economy ministry (MEIC) has reminded concertgoers this month that if a show is cancelled, buyers are entitled to a refund under articles 80 to 84 of the regulation to Consumer Protection Law 7472, with a maximum of 72 hours to process it once the cancellation triggers the procedure. Card purchases are reversed through the card.

For a US visitor, the full-access general ticket at about US$84 is the closest thing to the whole experience. If you only want Ozuna and an early night, the concert-only ticket is about US$20 cheaper.

The Venue and How to Get There

The Centro de Convenciones de Costa Rica is the country’s national convention centre. It sits on the General Cañas Highway in Ulloa, in the canton of Heredia, beside the Residencial Los Arcos neighbourhood, according to its listing in the supplier directory of PROCOMER, Costa Rica’s export promotion agency.

The same listing describes it as minutes from Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) and from downtown San José.

That location is the main advantage for visitors. Most hotels near the airport and in western San José suburbs such as Escazú, Santa Ana and Belén are a short taxi or ride-hailing trip away.

Plan on a taxi or ride-hailing car. The festival ends at 6 a.m., which means you should book your ride home in advance or agree a pick-up time with your hotel, and expect surge pricing and queues for cars when the crowd leaves.

Ozuna performs on La Explanada, the venue’s open-air esplanade. October falls in the rainy season in the Central Valley, and evening downpours are common, so bring a light rain layer and check the venue’s entry rules on what you can carry before you leave.

Tips for US and Foreign Visitors

Entry rules. A visa is not required for stays of less than 180 days, according to the US State Department’s Costa Rica page (checked on 12 October 2026), but a return ticket or proof of onward travel is required. Your passport must be valid for the whole stay.

Safety. The State Department rates Costa Rica at Level 2, “Exercise Increased Caution”, because of crime, in an advisory issued on 2 April 2026. At a late-night event that means the usual precautions: keep phones and cards out of sight, do not leave drinks unattended, and use a registered taxi or app ride rather than a car offered at the gate.

Time zone. Costa Rica does not use daylight saving time. On 31 October it is two hours behind US Eastern time, so the 5 p.m. start is 7 p.m. in New York.

Money. Prices are set in colónes. US cards work widely in the San José area, but your bank may add a foreign transaction fee, so check before you pay at the bar.
