Home owners on any slant as well as those at the bottom of the hills are in trouble because of coming mudslides.
Repairs and proper landscaping cannot be done fast enough & environmental cultists/elites will stop their own neighbors to prevent rebuilding.
All that is even before some dEmocrat donor calls in favors with those in charge to make sure single family units cannot be built in the name of making living space equitable.
Then those that escape their land being legally stolen via the government will have to battle with paper shufflers.
Care to say who wins that battle of wills?
Not happy. Not sad. Troubled because the majority of those who are losing/have lost homes and property will only blame others not themselves for putting those in power in the first place.
Troubled. Troubled because so many will not learn.

I remember some guy running into my back tire at Topanga and Mulholland in 1991. He went under my bumper and jolted the truck.
I got out and said “WTH”. He apologised and was of Korean lineage I think. It really didn’t do any damage to me but his hood was buckled.
I left.
