The Palworld Official Card Game has barely been out for three weeks, but demand has already become more than its creators can keep up with, and they’ve responded to the shortage of packs.
Bushiroad has apologized to players struggling to get hold of its new trading card game, confirming that Dawn of Palpagos remains in short supply.
“We would like to sincerely apologize to all of you who have been eagerly awaiting the product, as we are currently experiencing a continued shortage, making it difficult for many to obtain the item,” the company said in a statement posted by the official Japanese Palworld card game account.
The shortage follows a huge start for the TCG, which takes characters and creatures from Pocketpair’s Palworld and turns them into a two-player card game. Before Dawn of Palpagos even launched on July 30, it was announced that the game had already reached 3.5 million pack sales worldwide.
Palworld TCG devs ask for “patience” while they fix stock shortage
Its problem now is making sure that demand doesn’t leave players unable to actually buy it. Bushiroad hasn’t revealed what changes it will make to increase availability, but said it’s already looking for a solution.
Pocketpair“At present, we are internally discussing measures to ensure that more of you can receive the product,” the company explained. “We will provide further updates on our response in the near future.”
“We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to those of you who are waiting, and kindly ask for your patience just a little while longer.”
Bushiroad has already taken some action in Japan, where additional Dawn of Palpagos stock was due to arrive at its pop-up stores on August 14. Boxes from that shipment were also set to be sold with their shrink wrap removed, likely as a way of combating scalpers.
Resellers are a major issue affecting many popular card games, particularly Pokemon, where retailers have been forced to take extreme measures. Just a day after the Palworld version launched, cards were being sold online for thousands of dollars.
