Mike Pence doesn’t approve of Donald Trump’s supposed plan to pardon Jan. 6 rioters and is “literally praying” that both the president-elect and his VP pick JD Vance honor their oaths when they take office.

“I don’t think the president should pardon anyone who assaulted a police officer at the United States Capitol on Jan. 6,” the former vice president said at The Dispatch’s Summit 2024, according to a tweet shared by the outlet on Tuesday.

“Karen and I are literally praying that President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect Vance will stand on the commitments that they will make when they raise their right hands on that day,” he added. “And with God’s grace and the support of the American people, I believe they will.”

Hasn’t it been stated that those who were non-violent would be pardoned and the rest would be reviewed individually?

Does he pray for the family of Ashley Babbitt? He is not a Christian. He is a fool and someone that should go to the trash bin of history,

Yes, Trump has no intention of pardoning anyone who assaulted a police officer.

Why does he care if they get out?

He sounds like a 10 year old boy trying to cover up breaking someone’s window

As for his praying wife, if anyone cares to check on this, when Trump was celebrating July 4 at the White House he introduced pence and his wife to the crowd. The dirty hateful look she gave to Trump was satanic. It was worthy of an audition for wicked Wonder what they’ve been up to. In particular.

OK. If they assaulted a cop they maybe should not get a pardon. So leave the 2 of them charged with that in jail a few months but LET THE REST OF THEM OUT IMMEDIATELY.

“pence needs to read his constitution again... the president can pardon whomever he wishes.”

Only for federal crimes.

That’s my impression. And those who are PROVEN to have committed violent acts, after all they’ve been through, need to have their sentences reduced to time served. And that hell hole they’ve been imprisoned in needs to be razed, and the abusive jailors in it need to be fired, if not charged. (there’s a bad side of me that wouldn’t mind if those responsible got a little taste of the “justice” they meted out, but that would require lawfare, and that can no longer be).

Is he sure he wants to open that door again?

I think they’re going to comb over all the cases and pardon those who were non-violent. Those who broke stuff and attacked police will be a different story. Now, who would have a problem with that?

“I don’t think the president should pardon anyone who assaulted a police officer at the United States Capitol on Jan. 6,”

And what do you propose the President should do about the police officer that murdered an unarmed veteran that same day in the Capitol?
