Phillip Schofield confirms 'emotional' TV return 16 months after ITV scandal: 'My story of survival'

Phillip Schofield has confirmed he will be returning to the public eye with his first TV stint on Channel 5's Cast Away, which is set to air next week - over a year on from the This Morning scandal.

Back in May 2023, Schofield stepped down from his role as presenter on ITV daytime show This Morning after embarking on an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger male colleague.

The scandal left Schofield coming off social media and staying out of the public eye for a year, but the star recently began using his Instagram again to share sweet snaps of his dog, Alfie.

He says on the trailer of the show where he'll be marooned on a desert island for 3 days:

"I know what I did was wrong but is it enough to absolutely destroy someone?"

I suppose this is his way back...
