President Donald Trump has a new opening in his administration after White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Wednesday that she will step down at the end of the month.

Trump has not announced a successor, but traders are already betting on who will take over one of the White House’s most visible jobs.

As of 6:30 pm ET Wednesday evening, prediction market Kalshi gave Spencer Pratt a 65% implied chance of becoming Trump’s next press secretary, making him the overwhelming favorite.

Pratt was followed by former Trump White House counselor Alina Habba at 21%, CNN commentator Scott Jennings at 8%, Fox News personality Rachel Campos-Duffy at 4%, White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly at 4%, Kari Lake at 2%, and Trump campaign veteran Jason Miller at 1.1%.

The names reflect prediction-market wagers, not confirmed candidates being considered by the White House, which has not publicly identified potential replacements for Leavitt.

Tucker Carlson, meanwhile, was given a 1.1% chance.

The market could move quickly as more information emerges about whom Trump is considering.

Leavitt, 28, became the youngest White House press secretary in history when Trump returned to office in January 2025. She announced Wednesday that she would step down after nearly a year and a half in the role. Leavitt said she decided to leave after returning from maternity leave and concluding that she could not give both her young children and the demanding press secretary position the attention they deserve.

Trump said Leavitt would continue serving as an outside adviser as the administration works toward the November midterm elections.

For now, the White House has not said who will replace her.

The betting, however, has already begun.
