Following a string of major gaming collaborations, Lego could soon be teaming up with one of PlayStation’s biggest modern mascots, according to a leak.
Astro Bot has become one of PlayStation’s biggest success stories over the last few years, with Team Asobi’s platformer earning widespread praise and cementing the adorable robot as one of Sony’s flagship characters and most recent mascots.
At the same time, Lego has also been massively expanding its gaming lineup with sets based on franchises including Nintendo, Donkey Kong, Minecraft, Horizon, Fortnite, and of course, PlayStation. So it comes as no surprise that not one, but two PlayStation sets are coming soon, with one as a free gift.
Lego Astro Bot reportedly coming as free gift with PlayStation set
According to Brick Tap News, a Lego Astro Bot build is reportedly on the way, coming as a gift with purchase for the currently unannounced Lego 72306 PlayStation set.
The report claims the promotion and Astro Bot set will be officially available on October 1, with the set included free with every purchase of the rumored PlayStation set. The PlayStation model in question is predicted to contain 1,911 pieces and cost $160, although those details have not been officially confirmed by Lego.
Outside the fact that it’ll likely be a free gift, very little else is currently known about the Astro Bot Lego set, including the cost, final design, or how many pieces it’ll be. Though it’s unlikely to be an extensive set given its free gift nature.
As with all Lego leaks, the information should be treated as unconfirmed until officially announced, but it does seem PlayStation fans will have a few new designs to put on their shelves, or pair up with their consoles.
