The three Paldean Tauros breeds – Combat, Blaze & Aqua – will debut in Pokemon Go Raid battles during an upcoming event, so here are their weaknesses and the best counters to defeat them all in no time.
The Might and Mastery season keeps adding new Pokemon to Niantic’s game. This time is Tauros’ turn, but not the one from Kanto we’ve known for almost 30 years, but its Paldean variant, which has three different breeds.
Despite them having all the Fighting type, two of them have a secondary type. So, here’s how to target the weaknesses of Combat, Blaze, and Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros, as well as their best counters.
Paldean Tauros weaknesses in Pokemon Go
Combat Breed is a pure Fighting-type Pokemon, which means it’s weak against Fairy, Flying, and Psychic-type moves. On the other hand, it’s resistant to Bug, Dark, and Rock-type attacks.
Blaze Breed is a dual Fighting/Fire-type Pokemon, which means it’s weak against Flying, Psychic, Ground, and Water-type moves. As for its resistances, stay away from Bug, Dark, Fire, Grass, Ice, and Steel-type attacks, as they won’t deal much damage.
Aqua Breed is a dual Fighting/Water-type Pokemon, which means it’s weak against Fairy, Flying, Psychic, Electric, and Grass-type moves. Avoid taking any Bug, Dark, Rock, Fire, Ice, Steel, or Water-type creatures or moves, as they will struggle to deplete Paldean Tauros Aqua Breed’s HP.
Paldean Tauros best counters
These are some of the best counters to use against the three Paldean Tauros breeds in Pokemon Go:
Combat Breed
Blaze Breed
Aqua Breed
We’ve included a mix of Megas, Legendaries, Shadow, and more common Pokemon in the tables above, so there should be something for every trainer to use.
If you don’t have any of the creatures mentioned, go with their alternative or regular versions, or just use your best attackers to target the weaknesses of each Paldean Tauros’ breed. Remember that they should be properly leveled up and know the matching movesets.
How to get Paldean Tauros in Pokemon Go
During the Pokemon Go Stunning Styles event – which will run from April 3, 2025, until April 7, 2025 – the three Paldean Tauros breeds will debut in 3-Star Raid battles.
However, players won’t be able to get all of them, as they are region-locked. This means trainers will only be able to challenge the Paldean Tauros that appears in their area, which are as follows:
- Combat Breed: Iberian Peninsula
- Blaze Breed: Eastern Hemisphere
- Aqua Breed: Western Hemisphere

After they challenge and defeat a Paldean Tauros, players will get a chance to attempt a catch using the Premier Balls they are given. The number obtained will depend on their performance during battle.
Keep in mind that using Golden Razz Berries and landing Excellent Curveball Throws can increase the chances of catching a Pokemon.
Paldean Tauros CP in Pokemon Go
As with every Raid Boss in the game, the CP the three breeds of Paldean Tauros have during a Raid battle won’t be the same once you manage to catch them after defeating them. Plus, certain types of weather can increase such CP.
While Combat, Blaze, and Aqua Breeds have the same CP, their weather boosts will vary. As Fighting-type Pokemon, all their encounters will be boosted during Cloudy weather. However, Blaze Breed will also benefit from Sunny weather, while Aqua Breed will do the same with Rain.
Paldean Tauros stats & moves
The three Paldean Tauros breeds – Combat, Blaze, and Aqua – have the same stats and almost all the same moves:
Fast Moves
- Tackle (Normal)
- Zen Headbutt (Psychic)
- Double Kick (Fighting/STAB)
Charged Moves
- Earthquake (Ground)
- Iron Head (Steel)
- Trailblaze (Grass)
Combat Breed’s particular Charged Move is Close Combat (Fighting/STAB), Blaze Breed’s particular Charged Move is Flame Charge (Fire/STAB), and Aqua Breed’s particular Charged Move is Aqua Jet (Water/STAB).
Can Paldean Tauros be Shiny?
No, none of the three Paldean Tauros breeds can be Shiny in Pokemon Go. Unlike Mega Evolutions or Dynamax/Gigantamax Pokemon, usually when a new creature is added to the game, it doesn’t come with its Shiny variant.
Shiny Combat Breed, Shiny Blaze Breed, and Shiny Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros will most likely be added to Pokemon Go during a special event in the future. So, when that happens, we will update this guide.
That’s everything you need to know about the three Paldean Tauros breeds’ weaknesses and best counters in Pokemon Go. Don’t forget to check out the latest Pokemon Go events, including the current Community Day and Spotlight Hours.
