Pornhub exposes the most searched movie characters of 2024... as expert reveals why you should embrace kinks

Pornhub has unveiled the most searched movies and characters on the adult site during 2024 - as an expert revealed why you should embrace your kinks.

Comic book villain Harley Quinn, who has been portrayed by both Margot Robbie and Lady Gaga on the big screen, got the number one spot.

The character beat out the Star Wars franchise as well as the HBO series Game of Thrones, which came in second and third place on the list respectively.

The blue aliens from the Avatar films were the fourth most searched film or character this year, followed by Harry Potter, Wonder Woman, and Disney's The Incredibles.

Shrek, Power Rangers, and Spider-Man were also amongst the other kids' titles that made the top 30 Pornhub movie and character searches in 2024.

While lusting after cartoon characters may seem strange to some, professional sexologist Jessica Toscano told DailyMail.com exclusively that most fantasies like these are normal and healthy. 

'Fantasy and kinks really go hand-in-hand, as kinks are essentially playing out fantasies,' she explained.

'Exploring kinks usually allows for more intimacy and pleasure in a safe, communicative, consensual environment,' she continued. 

'Ultimately, kinks are healthy to explore and can improve your relationship with your partner as long as communication and consent are top priorities.'

In Pornhub's global yearly report, 'hentai' - a popular animated form of Japanese pornography - was the most overall searched term in the US, taking the top spot from 'lesbian,' which reigned in 2023, 2022, 2019, and 2017.

'Hentai' also ranked number one globally.

The Montreal-headquartered company said of the finding: 'All over the world people are showing increasing interest in this type of content, which can include video game characters, anime style characters, and 3D animation, to name a few.'

Compared to other countries, the US showed a special interest in 'latina' this year, which rose two spots to make it the second most searched term, while 'milf' followed in third place.

Pornhub added that 'milf' consistently ranks in the top three globally.

The term 'Asian' rose two spots to land in fourth place, while 'ebony' stayed in fifth place, the same as 2023.

The term 'lesbian' took a bit of a plunge in 2024, moving down five spots from last year to sixth place.

Looking at trending searches, Pornhub revealed that 'mature-50 plus' was 'popping off,' up 385 per cent this year.

Meanwhile, 'business trip' was up 331 per cent, 'thick and curvy' was up 251 per cent, and 'sneaky cheating' was up 211 per cent.

Pornhub theorized that the rise of 'business trip' came down to people developing work crushes again with the return of hybrid and in-office working.

A spokesperson commented: 'It's one thing being behind a screen in meetings, but when you're back in the office, those sparks might turn into flames. And our statisticians saw this unfolding in real time.' 

Elsewhere, Pornhub also revealed that 27-year-old Violet Myers was the top pornstar of the year in the US.

Former Marine Alex Adams came in second, while Chicago-born Lana Rhoades was in third.

Globally, Pornhub found that there was a huge interest in 'wives,' which it attributed to the TV reality show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
