Post Malone has put one of the most valuable Magic: The Gathering cards ever made into an actual game, three years after paying $2 million for it.
The musician appeared on the latest episode of The Command Zone’s Game Knights, where he brought along his unique The One Ring card from MTG’s The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth set.
Rather than simply showing off the collectible, Malone removed it from its protective case and played it during the Commander match.
The card is particularly valuable because Wizards of the Coast produced just one serialized 001/001 version as part of the 2023 Lord of the Rings release.
It was eventually discovered in Canada before Malone purchased it from its original owner for $2 million in August 2023, making it one of the most expensive publicly known Magic card sales ever.

During the Game Knights episode, Malone was handed the card before opening its protective case and placing it onto the battlefield.
Its appearance immediately prompted jokes about just how much money was sitting on the table, including a warning from the show that its insurance did not cover the card.

Malone then used The One Ring’s in-game ability, gaining protection after it entered the battlefield, and followed it up with a Lord of the Rings reference.
The moment stands out because high-value trading cards are often kept graded, sealed or stored away to preserve their condition and value.
The top video comment shows fans are happy to see it in use, too: “It genuinely warms my heart that the rarest, most precious magic card in existence wound up in the hands of a legit fan, and he actually plays with it.”
Malone has been heavily involved with Magic: The Gathering for years, however, and has previously appeared in MTG events and content rather than treating his collection purely as an investment.
