Detectives investigating a potential Islamist terror attack in Northern Ireland said the suspect travelled from North Africa through Britain.

Specialist officers are probing the attack in Belfast on the evening of March 1, and are understood to be working towards the possibility the stabbing was motivated by religious terrorism.

An 18-year-old man was arrested after the stabbing near the Ormeau Road at around 7.35pm on March 1.

Police believe the offender was acting alone and not as part of a cell.
