President Trump Tells Rally of 20,000 Pro-Life Conservatives: “Woke Has to Stop”

“The Golden Age of America Has Dawned” was President Trump’s message to some 20,000 patriots – conservative, pro-life, and deeply committed to God – who gathered in Phoenix from Thursday, December 19th through Sunday, December 22nd – for the Turning Point USA “America Fest.” It was a gathering that mingled the joy of the recent election victories with the joy of Christmas.

The numerous speakers, along with President Trump, constituted a who’s who of conservative American politics. But more importantly, the attendees represented the heart of America – faith, family, freedom, hard work, and morality, including pro-life conviction.

And that spirit permeated everything, even the garbage cans, which were cleverly labeled with slogans like “Trash Open Borders”, “Leftist Ideologies,” and “Big Gov is Garbage.”

Numerous conservative media outlets were present, and in my interviews with them they wanted to know how people could advance the pro-life cause. In fact, many of the participants, with whom I mingled in the hallways, the VIP Lounge and the Exhibit Hall, asked me specifically how they could get more involved in the pro-life movement, some saying it has become their top priority.

Every person with whom I spoke, young and old, expressed, without exception, their affirmation of the work we all do to protect the unborn and serve their mothers. Pro-life organizations were among the exhibitors, mingled with various political groups and multimedia technology companies.

The crowd was overwhelmingly young: college students who have become activated on campus to be patriots fighting to save our country.

Speakers like Tom Homan, incoming Border Czar for President Trump, detailed plans to end the violence, sex trafficking, and influx of drugs at our broken border with immediate action, including the most extensive deportation of criminals and illegal aliens in American history.

Other issues critical to the election, such as inflation, ending transgender indoctrination, restoring free speech and strengthening religious freedom, were highlighted and explored. The tone was hope-filled and celebratory, with the conviction that we are about to enter into the best four years in our nation’s history.

The cause of the unborn will be greatly advanced by this movement and message. It will be a glorious fruit of the revolution we see unfolding before our eyes.

In his speech on Sunday, President Trump vowed to end “gender insanity” and said that starting a month from now, the official policy of the United States will be that there are only two genders. He declared, “Woke has to stop!”

Countless voters were motivated precisely by that in this election, and countless voters understand that one of the key reasons that we cannot say today that a man is a man or a woman is a woman is precisely that for over fifty years we’ve pretended that a baby in the womb is not a baby.

If we are now on a path of ending the gender insanity, then ending the abortion insanity is not far behind. Abortion is rooted in the very same rebellion against God’s truth, and pro-life is rooted in the very same rediscovery of God’s truth.

President Trump said that this election marks “a commonsense revolution.” Indeed, I heard across the nation this Fall so many voters saying that this election was a choice between commonsense and insanity. And they voted for commonsense. That means a pro-life revolution is not far behind. Pro-life is commonsense.

There’s another reason pro-life will prevail. It is the MAHA movement – Make America Healthy Again. In his speech, and by his actions and appointments, President Trump has made clear that a priority of his second term will indeed be the health of America, and that he intends to get to the bottom of why there is so much disease in America that we did not see just a few decades ago.

We in the pro-life movement know well that if you start to scratch that surface, it won’t be long before you discover the health disaster that abortion – both chemical and surgical – have unleashed on our nation.

But probably the deepest reason we are seeing the beginning of a pro-life revolution is what, consistent with what he has been saying throughout all his campaigns, President Trump declared again on Sunday, namely, that this election and transition of power is not simply about his victory – it’s about our victory. He said that we have been elected as the 47th President. The convincing message we sent to the Left, he said to us, demonstrates that “this nation does not belong to them but to you.”

That’s right. This nation does not belong to the radical, anti-God, anti-life Left. It belongs to us. Permissive abortion policies were imposed on this nation by Roe and by well-funded campaigns of deception that take away voters’ and legislators’ rights by constitutional amendments.

But we the people have shown for decades that when we are permitted to exercise our freedom of religion, of speech, of assembly, and of fair elections and of honest public debate, pro-life wins.

This weekend’s conference highlights the fact that we have turned a corner. America is back. Commonsense is back. We must continue working just as hard as we did in this election – and provided we do so, we will continue to win. It will be a Golden Age indeed.
