CV NEWS FEED // Pro-life activist and Live Action President Lila Rose has announced that she is voting for Donald Trump.
In a post on her X account, Rose wrote, “Kamala Harris’ policies and record on abortion are objectively worse than Trump’s. If Trump doesn’t win on November 5th, it will be Kamala Harris who will assume the presidency.”
Rose called Harris’ campaign “the most pro-abortion campaign in American history.” She drew attention to Harris’s career as Attorney General of California. During this time, Harris prosecuted the journalist who exposed Planned Parenthood’s sale of the body parts of unborn children and tried to force pregnancy resource centers to post abortion advertisements.
As presidential candidate, Harris has opposed conscience exemption for doctors and nurses who oppose abortion. She supports taxpayer-funded abortion, Rose continues, and has spread misinformation about miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy care in order to promote abortion.
Rose added, “Disturbingly, Harris has made unfettered support for abortion a central tenet of her campaign; she is also the first candidate for president to tour an abortion clinic as a publicity stunt.”
Rose then discussed former President Donald Trump’s stances on abortion and lamented his compromise on abortion, saying that his campaign chose “a path that prioritizes supposed political convenience over fundamental rights.”
She expressed concern over vice presidential candidate JD Vance’s statement that he and Trump support access abortion pills, as these pills are responsible for 60% of abortions.
She added her concern over Trump’s support of taxpayer-funded in vitro fertilization (IVF), explaining that the procedure often results in the death of embryos.
She added that Trump and Vance support exceptions for abortion in the cases of rape and incest, and that they oppose a national abortion ban.
“Trump and Vance may believe these positions are politically more expedient. But there is no middle ground when it comes to life,” she continued.
She added that, “to his permanent credit,” Trump’s administration overturned Roe v. Wade thanks to his appointment of three Supreme Court judges.
She admitted that she responded to Vance’s statement that Trump would oppose a national abortion ban by saying, “if you don’t stand for pro-life principles, you don’t get pro-life votes.” However, she has also met personally with Trump to discuss abortion policies and said that he was generous with his time.
Rose concluded that she was voting for Trump because “the prospect of what Kamala Harris may do in the next four years as President is worse than what Trump has said he would do on life.”
Rose encouraged the Republican party to reform its policies on abortion, saying that Trump’s looser stance on abortion has discouraged pro-life voters from supporting him.
“I urge the Republicans to think big picture about this and restore life to their platform and advocacy,” she said. “If they don’t, the Republican Party will not be able to depend on social conservatives and Christians for their votes in the future.”
Rose concluded, “We must continue our fight to secure the respect for human life in both political parties, and across our culture. The protection of our children cannot be negotiable — America’s future depends on leaders who protect its most vulnerable.”
