Putin Says Russia Reserves the Right to Use Nuclear Weapons if Attacked

President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Russia could use nuclear weapons if it was attacked by any state, and that any conventional attack on Russia that was supported by a nuclear power would be considered to be a joint attack.

Can anyone coherently articulate what the clear and current US position is today, on providing long range attack missiles to Ukraine and guiding them on-target for them, deep inside Russia?
Seems like a good thing to be clear on, no?

More noise. He’s hoping that more of his nuclear huffing and puffing will provide a face-saving excuse to Western leaders to abandon Ukraine. If he succeeds, he’ll go after the Baltics next. After all, having successfully bluffed his way into winning the current war will mean the West will just fold again.
