The Issue: NYC first lady Rama Duwaji’s upcoming trip to Syria and Lebanon without an NYPD escort.
Mayor Mamdani said that a miscommunication led his press people to say Rama Duwaji would get a security detail on her trip to Syria and Lebanon (“Won’t fly,” Aug. 13).
I’m sorry, but I don’t buy that — just a bunch of lies, like always.
I think Mamdani himself wanted the NYPD to go with her, but when he caught a lot of flack about it, he backed down.
I’m glad City Hall got a harsh response from the NYPD.
This mayor wants to do whatever he pleases, but let’s hope there’s people out there that will stop him.

Rama Duwaji, the first lady of New York City, decides to travel to countries on the do-not-travel list.
It was suggested we would send the NYPD finest to protect her.
How would you do this without causing a potential international disaster?

Syria and Lebanon have been designated as “do not travel” countries by the US government.
Why would a “private citizen” be escorted by police officers who could be killed in countries where they shouldn’t be?

No matter how robust an NYPD security detail the mayor’s Jew-hating and America-hating wife would have brought with her to Syria and Lebanon, it’s not far-fetched to think that these officers could be overwhelmed by terrorists, and ultimately wind up as hostages in Iranian hands, where they could be tortured and used as pawns in negotiations with President Trump to end the war.
She doesn’t need a NYPD security detail; her friends in Hamas and Hezbollah will undoubtedly ensure her safety.

Rama Duwaji has just learned a new word: Chutzpah!

The mayor’s spokesperson’s brazen assumption that the NYPD would accompany his wife to Syria and Lebanon is yet another example of Mamdani’s dictatorship mindset.
God forbid someone of his ilk gets to the Oval Office.
Then the US military will be at the whim of the president, as it is at the whim of all dictators.

The Issue: Left-wing candidate Francesca Hong’s loss in Wisconsin Democrats gubernatorial primary.
Democratic voters in Wisconsin finally came to their senses, and a late surge turned the tide in the gubernatorial primary race (“Wisconsin Was Just One Battle,” Editorial, Aug. 13).
Instead of allowing a fully avowed communist to run for governor, they elevated a slightly better socialist to the candidates’ perch.
True, Francesca Hong hated America, Thanksgiving and almost all national holidays.
She was anti-Israel and anti-anything slanted to the true American ideals that made our country great.
She is feeling a bit low this week, but I bet even the local left-wing media is breathing a sigh of relief.

Wisconsin loon Francesca Hong’s now-deleted tweet calling to cancel Thanksgiving may have crossed the red line for a DSA candidate in the Democratic Party.
It was so deadly that even socialist Jew-bashing defenders of the working class like Rep. Alexandria “Met Gala” Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie “Three Homes” Sanders wouldn’t jump on one of their private planes or lounge in first class on a commercial airliner to campaign for her.
Well, hooray for Thanksgiving.
Our happy family day to enjoy turkey may have saved Wisconsin from electing one.
