The new year is well under way and Christmas is a hazy memory of shredded wrapping paper and over-eating, but the unrelenting Premier League calendar has scarcely slowed down.

After a full round of midweek fixtures for gameweek 20 had brought the familiar thrills, spills devoid of nil-nils, the division's players were shunting back in to the spotlight, forcing their ever-more weary limbs through the fury of a top-flight contest. This understandable fatigue gave way to a glut of late goals, with seven scored on or after the 89th minute across the ten fixtures.

Here are the players that managed to keep on ploughing forward in this unforgiving schedule.

Just five days earlier, Trevoh Chalobah was still technically a Crystal Palace player. Yet, on Monday night, the Chelsea academy graduate made his second homecoming in impressive fashion. Commanding when called upon and only robbed of a memorable goal by teammate Noni Madueke, Chalobah emphatically justified Enzo Maresca's description of his return as "the best solution".
