The rich just got richer.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Diontae Johnson is a Carolina Panther no more after being traded to the Baltimore Ravens. In exchange, Carolina will receive a fifth-round pick. The Ravens will also be getting a sixth-round selection along with Johnson.

Johnson has now been traded twice this year, with the first time being from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Panthers and now to Baltimore from Carolina. The trade from the Ravens’ AFC North rival came prior to the 2024 campaign. (RELATED: Texans’ Stefon Diggs Ruled Out For Rest Of Season After Suffering Torn ACL Against Colts)

With trade interest happening in Johnson, the Panthers decided to sit him out of Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos.

This season, Johnson has tallied 357 receiving yards and three touchdowns for Carolina, making a total of 30 catches.

Johnson will now be lined up with fellow receivers Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman, giving Baltimore the ability to spread out defensive opposition more consistently.

Sure, Diontae Johnson isn’t a guy who’s guaranteed to get 1,000 receiving yards every season, but he doesn’t have to be in this Ravens wide receiving corps that’s already being led by Zay Flowers. And not to mention, in an offense that’s led by Lamar friggin’ Jackson.

Johnson is quite the productive wide receiver. The Ravens only need a little bit of it to bring home the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

This is actually a huge move for Baltimore, a potential championship-winning one.
