It turns out some good deeds do get punished - even during the festive season.

A real estate agent in Georgia attempted to spread Christmas cheer after overordering on cards and deciding to send them to 50 random contacts in her business database.

The card simply read, 'Merry Christmas! We are so happy to have you in our real estate family' - but not all were thrilled to be included in the festive well-wishes.

Because, rather than spreading Christmas joy, realtor Jenny Smith, 52, accidentally spread panic in one household.

In a TikTok shared online, the housing expert recalled the incident which took place a few years ago, sharing a voicemail message received from a man named David, who claimed Jenny mistakenly sent him a card - causing his wife to accuse him of having an affair.

'This is David,' the message says. 'You sent a Christmas card to my house by mistake, and now my wife is accusing me of buying a house for a hidden girlfriend because you supposedly talked to me back in June.'

He continued pleading with Jenny to 'straighten this out' before it gets 'very, very ugly.'

'I did not talk to you back in June,' he insisted.

Jenny figured that David had entered his details into the system, but was not a client of hers.

She called him back, and he insisted she explain the situation to his wife.

'I was nervous, but I called him back, and he put me on the phone with his wife,' Jenny told Today.

'I explained to her that her husband was not a client of ours, and I just had his name and address in our system,' she added.

David's wife calmed down after hearing from Jenny, who reported the couple were 'very nice.'

'I apologized. I said, "You know, I come from a church background, where you used to give Christmas cards to everyone at church whether you knew them or not,"' she explained.

While David wasn't having an affair, psychologist Amanda Charles has been on the receiving end of a cheating bombshell before.

After learning her husband was cheating on her, she discovered there are ten distinct types of affair, and each should be handled differently.

Amanda found that some are almost impossible to recover from, while others could even make a marriage stronger if both partners work at reconciliation and understanding the reasons it happened.

In order to learn what kind of affair has taken place, Amanda starts by examining the motivations behind an affair – whether mental, emotional, physical or spiritual.

She outlined the 10 types of affairs as: opportunistic, grief, emotional, addiction, validation, mid-life crisis, narcissistic, revenge, adventure and exit.

The psychologist says it's not impossible to recover from this.

'Reflection is crucial for moving beyond the pain of betrayal,' she explained.

'Each type of affair uncovers distinct personal struggles and unmet needs,' she continued.

'Ultimately, confronting and healing from infidelity paves the way for a more authentic and fulfilling future, whether continuing with a partner or moving forward independently.’
