Good morning. At the end of February, Amazon founder and Washington Post owner announced some new “pro-liberty” changes, but he still doesn’t really get why these changes won’t fix the newspaper’s larger issues. Also, the Trump family is in talks to make a big — and potentially troublesome — crypto purchase.

🔎 WHAT WE'RE WATCHING

💰 The Trump family is in talks to acquire a stake in Binance. The Trump family has reportedly held discussions to acquire a stake in the US arm of Binance, a major cryptocurrency exchange that has faced legal challenges, including a 2023 guilty plea for violating anti-money-laundering laws. This move could strategically position the Trump family to benefit from the exchange’s potential return to the US market. The importance of this deal lies in the potential influence it could have on future regulatory decisions, especially with the Trump administration’s current favorable stance toward the crypto industry.

🎙️ Newsom hosted Steve Bannon just days after Charlie Kirk. California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) featured former Trump strategist Steve Bannon on his podcast "This Is Gavin Newsom," engaging in a surprisingly cordial hour-long discussion often focused on economic issues. Notably, Newsom did not push back too hard against Bannon's claims about the 2020 election, continuing his pattern of hosting conservatives when most on the left refuse. This unusual pairing signals Newsom's strategic pivot toward engaging conservative audiences ahead of potential future political ambitions.

🥇 Fox News dominates TV ratings in 2025. So far this year, Fox News has outpaced all major networks, including broadcast giants like CBS, NBC, and ABC, with an average of 3.63 million viewers in weekday primetime. Additionally, the network’s prime-time shows continue to crush the competition in both total viewers and the coveted 25-54 age demographic. Fox’s continued success highlights the growing divide between the cable news giants, with left-leaning competitors like CNN and MSNBC cutting staff and firing formerly popular hosts.

⚖️ Newsmax settled a defamation lawsuit with Smartmatic. Newsmax agreed to pay $40 million to settle defamation claims from Smartmatic, a voting machine company, following allegations that Newsmax spread false information about the company’s role in the 2020 election. While Newsmax denied wrongdoing, the settlement ends the costly legal battle that other right-leaning giants like Fox News have faced. Even four years later, right-wing media outlets are still facing legal pressure for their involvement in the 2020 election narrative.

The third-richest person in the world bought DC’s premier publication — The Washington Post — in 2013.

Since then, Bezos’ publication has advocated for mass internet censorship, sex changes for minors, DEI policies, and vaccine mandates for the masses. It also condemned large swaths of conservatives for voting for the current president and played a major role in promoting the now completely discredited Russiagate hoax — an effort to sabotage his first four years in office…
