Republican Dave McCormick defeated incumbent Democratic Sen. Bob Casey in Pennsylvania’s Senate race, The Associated Press projected, marking the 53rd Senate seat Republicans have captured in winning back the majority.

Pennsylvania saw one of the most expensive Senate races in the country this cycle — and McCormick had early backing from national Republican operatives during the state’s GOP primaries. But Casey has deep ties in Pennsylvania, a state where the Senate race played out alongside huge focus from presidential candidates.

Casey's campaign on Thursday said it's not conceding yet. Spokesperson Maddy McDaniel wrote in a statement: "As the Pennsylvania Secretary of State said this afternoon, there are tens of thousands of ballots across the Commonwealth still to count, which includes provisional ballots, military and overseas ballots, and mail ballots. This race is within half a point and cannot be called while the votes of thousands of Pennsylvanians are still being counted. We will make sure every Pennsylvanian’s voice is heard.”

Hopefully, we'll have our normal CC system up and running again soon. Thank you very much for your loyal support!

This one is a nail biter, but it looks like Cambria County has finished counting and there are not enough remaining Provisionals and military ballots to make a difference in the outcome.

Sure, they should be counted in the official totals and probably widen the margin, but if AP and Politico is calling it, the fat lady has sung.

Good riddance to a worthless little prick!

Excellent. Now we need to keep the House. The count is going very slowly in a number of states.

Here is the key sentence in the article:

“Casey’s campaign on Thursday said it’s not conceding yet”

It all depends on whether the gap cles to less than 0.5%. If so the dem machine can mess withe recount. Hope it foesnt come to that.
