Sorry, Chuck Schumer: You’re set to become Senate minority leader as Republicans recapture the Senate.

That’s darn cheery news for the nation, especially with Donald Trump winning the White House.

The GOP went into the race holding 49 seats to the Democrats’ 51 (including independents caucusing with them), with a near-lock to pick up more at least two seats.

Sure enough, in West Virginia, Republican Jim Justice flipped the Democratic seat Sen. Joe Manchin left open — and did so in what seemed to be the making of a landslide.

In Ohio, Republican Bernie Moreno beat incumbent Dem Sherrod Brown, with Tim Sheehy overwhelmingly expected to oust Sen. Jon Tester in Montana, that’s plus three.

In Pennsylvania, GOP challenger Dave McCormick was edging out Democratic Sen. Bob Casey, just as Eric Hovde was leading Dem Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin and Mike Rogers led Elissa Slotkin in Michigan. In Nevada, Sam Brown trailed Dem Sen. Jacky Rosen by a fraction of a point.

Meanwhile, Dem hopes of gains all crashed and burned.

Republican control of the Senate means that major backing for the Trump agenda: keeping the courts politically neutral, ending the migrant nightmare, cutting taxes, fueling energy production, containing inflation and speeding up economic growth.

It’s an agenda far more in line with what average Americans want, as polls have shown.

Learning who controls the next House of Representatives may take days, but the GOP flipping the Senate guarantees the country won’t take another hard left turn.

That’s a huge win however the rest of the returns fall.
