have hope. Then there's this, FTA:

"Republicans had secured at least 211 seats, seven short of a majority in the 435-seat chamber. Democrats would have to win 19 of the remaining uncalled races to take a House majority and maintain a toehold on power in Washington."

That means we only need to secure seven seats to hit the majority while the DemonRats need to gain 19, a probably tough lift.

It is surreal that these totals are still not in. How can anyone trust this stuff? Incompetence or evil? Either way, this is inexcusable.

Is 53 in the Senate Mitt-proof, or do we need more?

The GOP currently has a 216-204 seat advantage, with a flip of +1 seat over the current House (220 GOP). Current predictions are 221-214 or 222-213 over at Decision Desk HQ. It keeps flipping back and forth.

Not trying to be critical, but I'm surprised the number of Freepers who don't realize that Romney is retiring the end of this year/session.

Mitt will be gone. BUT it is Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski proof. Republicans could endure 3 RINO squishes and still pass bills with Vance breaking the tie.

Trump wins 31 states and we are struggling to get a GOP majority in the House of Representatives.

Why is this happening?

Mitt is retiring - but there are still Collins and Murkowski - and a few others.

Pick up Kari Lake and get Rick Scott in as Majority Leader instead of Cornyn and Trump will be in a very good position for confirmation hearings. Big Pharma probably has the Maricopa County vote counters on speed dial.

We dodged a bullet with Hogan, he just would have been another Romney.

It would be absolutely grand if Trump and the republicans did exactly what the democrats promised to do. Nuke the filibuster, and pack the SCOTUS. Then, put the filibuster back in place. All the wailing from the democrats would be glorious. “We just did what you wanted to do. Why is that bad?”

It has to be Collins & Murkowski proof.

And Mittens for as long as he hangs around..

Thank you, Leonard.

This fact seems to be escaping many FReepers.

Appreciate your brevity, as well.

I've wondered the same thing, although predictions had the GOP flipping the Senate and the House being 50/50 or very slightly less of staying GOP controlled. If the latter predictions were truthful, then the GOP did snag a few more seats than predicted.

Maybe the resources of the RNC were more directed toward beating Harris than the House. I also seem to recall the GOP had quite a few last-minute retirements that messed up the primaries.

Mitt will have much more time to look in his mirror come Jan 7, as his successor takes his seat.

Not to worry though; a number of RINOs will be strong and ready to stop whatever might be moving in the right direction.

I really hate “bare majorities.” Too many RINO’s to have to trust.

I was hoping for a blowout in the House as well. 15+ seats at least.

Yep a loudmouth who would love the limelight and media adoration for being anti-Trump, the new GOP maverick.

Can you imagine if the Electoral Vote came down to Nevada or Arizona? AP STILL has not called them for Trump. It's FRIDAY. They make is sound like a horse race in progress, as if the result is not already in the can. This slow walk of publication of events that happened last Tuesday and before is ridiculous.
