Addressing a ceremony held at the Foreign Ministry on Sunday to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the martyrdom of Lt. General Qassem Soleimani, Araqchi said resistance is a school of thought, a cause, and a holy goal that could not be defeated by weapons and bombs.
Resistance is not dependent upon a single person either, the foreign minister added, stressing that the martyrdom of a resistance leader or force would give fresh impetus to resistance.
“It is impossible to eliminate a holy cause with bullets. The school of resistance does have weapons, but its main weapon is the blood of martyrs,” Araqchi added.
He also dismissed the mistaken belief held by the enemies that they can score a victory by dealing blows to the axis of resistance, describing the blows as the beginning of bigger defeats for the adversaries.
In remarks in October 2024, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said the perseverance and endeavors by the resistance front has changed the fate and history of the region.
Highlighting the failure of the Zionist regime in destroying the resistance front despite killing more than 50,000 innocent civilians, Ayatollah Khamenei made clear that Western civilization and politicians suffered an even bigger defeat.
The outcome of the events in the region is a big defeat not just for the Zionist regime but more so for the civilization and culture of the West, the Leader said.
