"Now, I don't agree with that, but I think it's a reflection of how badly broken our system is, that people are prepared to go for these crazy alternatives, and it's why the right need to get its act together and put forward policies and gain momentum and support.
"The errors of the Conservative Governments over the 14 years was not really reversing some of the key Blair policies that made our country ungovernable, whether that was the Human Rights Act or the Climate Change Act. I'm very critical of what we failed to do, and in that, in those period of years.
"The right needs to get behind an agenda, which is about reversing Blairism and returning our country to a proper parliamentary democracy.
"Currently, Government ministers have very little say over key things that happen in our country, and I know that with respect to the Bank of England, it is true of things like the asylum system.
"We need to have an agreement on the right to reverse the Human Rights Act and get rid of the Climate Change Act and really take back control of our country. The public are increasingly realising that the country's become ungovernable.
"That is why we've had a series of prime ministers, and we're possibly…on number seven within a decade. People have got to understand there's a bigger problem than the identity of the person in Number 10 Downing Street.
"We've got a system problem, and it's all of our responsibility to try and fix that and put pressure to make that happen."
