What has become of music? These guys could do this while strung out.
No one could do it now - sober, w/ an athletic trainer, voice coach, guitar filters, auto tune, and on and on.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Will probably always be my favorite Stones song.

Definitely one of the Stone’s best.

Yep. Excellent version. Stoic, perfect, soulful Mick Taylor. Jagger is great, if a little glittery, and Richards... just listen to how the bank picks up when he jumps in. Yes, it— life, music, everything— was better ‘back then’. By far.

Mick Taylor was a huge difference maker. Keith was quoted as saying “I heard we we’re getting a guitarist. I didn’t know he was an “effing” virtuoso.”

IIRC Keith wanted Steve Marriott. but Mick said no, because he knew Marriott would blow him off the stage.

Mick Taylor was capable of blowing anyone off the stage. I think Mick T was getting off the drugs and the road, while Mick and Keith weren’t, so he just quit. Or was fired. Either way Mick T didn’t fit in after awhile.

Mick J pretty much had cleaned up his act by the late 70s, I don’t even think he was that big of a druggie even before that.

For sure. But Mick T left in 74 or 75 I think. Ronnie should have stayed with Rod Stewart and Mick T should have stayed w/ the Stones in a perfect world.
