Rowers from Fordham University’s crew team were taken to the hospital after one of their boats capsized Saturday afternoon just off City Island, according to officials.

“There was a malfunctioning within one of their boats, to where they had to get in the water,” a police source said, which occurred just before 12:15 p.m. in the Rodman’s Neck peninsula off The Bronx and City Island.

A civilian in a boat rescued the 19 rowers from the water and brought them to shore on City Island, according to the FDNY.

Fifteen rowers sustained minor injuries and were brought to local hospitals while four refused medical attention, according to the FDNY.

Those who did were taken in smaller groups to Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Jacobi Hospital and Montefiore Einstein, cops said.

It’s unclear what caused the boat flipped, according to the departments.

The boat was recovered, and is being held for the Fordham crew program to pick up, the police source said.
