Russian Ruble Slides to Weakest Level Since Early Days of Ukraine War

The Russian ruble dropped to its lowest level since the start of the Ukraine war, presssured by fears that new U.S. sanctions will gum up Russia’s already constrained trade channels.
The ruble's recent slide has pushed it beyond 100 rubles per dollar, a psychologically important threshold for ordinary Russians gauging the health of the economy.
On Wednesday, the currency fell to 107 against the dollar, the weakest since March 2022, according to LSEG data.
