Ryanair left a passenger stunned after she was hit with an extra cost she has claimed she should not have to pay.
The budget airline is known for being strict when it comes to luggage size restrictions, allowing standard ticket holders one small bag onboard which must measure 40 x 30 x 25cm maximum.
Passengers can also upgrade to cabin baggage - subject to availability - allowing them to bring a piece of luggage weighing no more than 10kg and measuring no bigger than 55 x 40 x 20cm.
Buying this upgrade online can cost anywhere from £6-£36, however Ryanair has warned that checking it in at the gate would be priced from £70-£75.

However, the handle, which was not fully retracted, and the bulk of the bag seemed to go over the limit.
"Aer Lingus, you've gained a new brand ambassador," she captioned the post.
Users took to the comments to fume about the incident, with one saying: “It's literally a perfect fit?"
A second TikToker added: "Wait can you explain what they said because that makes no sense."

Trout said: "She [the Ryanair staff member] genuinely just kept saying 'it doesn't fit, sorry, I need your card details' and was so rude. She made the woman behind me do it too and the poor woman was bawling crying."
At the same time, other people claimed Ryanair was in the right, arguing the bag was clearly too big.
"It's sticking out ever so slightly as there's a yellow-black line on the outer rim, the depth measured with a ruler is 20cm," one commenter explained.
Another added: "Your handle is broken and because it's broken it has to take up twice the amount of space in the overhead cabin."
