A recent analysis by the Washington Post, conducted in partnership with the City University of New York Graduate Center and Oregon State University, reveals significant damage to infrastructure and housing in southern Lebanon due to escalating Israeli air and ground assaults.

The study utilized Sentinel-1 satellite imagery, alongside verified videos from social media, to examine the impact of the attacks. Findings indicate that close to 25% of buildings in 25 municipalities near the border with occupied Palestine have sustained damage. Controlled demolitions have also led to the destruction of at least nine religious sites in the area.

In the border villages of Ayta ash-Shab and Kfar Kila, nearly half of all buildings have been severely impacted, with an estimated 5,868 structures affected by the ongoing strikes.

Although Israel's attacks on Lebanon began last October, the report highlights that 80% of the destruction has taken place since Israel intensified its ground offensive last month.
