Sean Hannity clashes with socialist Democrat guest on his show for mistakenly calling him SCOTT

Sean Hannity grilled Democratic Socialists of America-sponsored Pennsylvania congressional nominee Chris Rabb in an interview Wednesday, after the latter mistakenly got his name wrong to start things off rather awkwardly. 

'He advocates for Medicare for all, universal basic income, federal jobs guarantees,' Hannity, 64, said, introducing Rabb at the top of the segment. 

The Fox News host proceeded to rattle through other 'far-left positions' championed by the state representative, including 'guaranteed housing, universal childcare, [and] government grocery stores.'

'Abolishing ICE, dismantling immigration detention centers, ending the embargo to Cuba,' Hannity continued. He also noted that his guest had received an endorsement from controversial political commentator Hasan Piker.

'And that is the radical streamer who said America deserves 9/11,' Hannity clarified. Rabb, 56, eventually appeared on-screen as footage of him and Piker, 35, rallying together in June played.

'Anyway, the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania's third Congressional district, Chris Rabb, joins us now. Chris, appreciate you coming,' Hannity segued.    

'My pleasure - thank you, Scott,' said Rabb. The reply was met with a noticeable lull. 

'Uh, my name is not Scott - my name is Sean. But that's OK,' Hannity eventually said.

Rabb, after a brief eyebrow raise, replied with a smile: 'Apologies.' 

'Nah, no worries. No worries,' Hannity said, eager to 'go through' what he billed as 'the DSA beliefs' with the state representative.   

'Yes or no. You want to eliminate the US Senate?' Hannity asked, paving the way for another pause.

'Um, that’s not really what I ran on. That’s the DSA national platform,' Rabb said.

Hannity tried to explain the premise of the quick Q&A as Rabb repeated that he was 'the Democratic nominee for [Pennsylvania's] Third Congressional District.'    

'Sir. Sir. I'm asking you quick questions, and then we'll give you time,' Hannity said. 'Do you want amnesty for illegals and to abolish borders?'

Rabb asked 'what are illegals?'    

'Illegal immigrants,' an increasingly impatient Hannity said. 'People that didn’t respect our laws, borders, and sovereignty, and entered the country without permission. Illegal immigrants.'

'Yeah, I don’t accept the premise of that question,' answered Rabb. 'There are folks who have documentation. These are not criminal acts.'

Hannity visibly bristled. 'Excuse me,' the host said. 'If you enter our country illegally, uh, by definition, that is a criminal act.'

Asked if he wanted 'to abolish ICE,' Rabb answered: 'Absolutely.'

'And dismantle the immigrant concentration camps.' 

'Do you want to defund the Department of War?' Hannity followed up.

Rabb maintained that Americans needed to 'radically reduce how much money we're spending with the Pentagon,' while offering another 'absolutely.'   

'Our war budget is radically larger than every other country combined,' he exclaimed.

'Do you want to end all deportations?' Hannity continued.

Rabb refused to give a straight answer. He pointed to a bipartisan bill in the Senate shot down last year he said 'was moving towards that.'

'But your president tried to kill that in order to be president again,' said Rabb.

'Well, he's also your president - you do live in the United States, whether you like it or not,' Hannity said. 

Rabb also said he would 'absolutely' eliminate cash bail and establish a wealth tax.

'Would you like to abolish prisons and abolish the police?' Hannity continued, as the two got into it about the term 'policing' and whether figures such as 'state troopers' and 'sheriffs' still constituted police.

'Ninety-nine percent of what police do are not going after the bad guys. All of that can be done in different ways,' Rabb added.

Hannity asserted he was 'talking about police who arrest bad people, that commit crimes and commit robberies and rape, the child molesters, the drug dealers, those people.'

'The people that have guns that protect the innocent,' the host said.

'There are people who did that before the term police existed, though? I mean, let's talk about this in the appropriate context,' answered Rabb.

The back-and-forth continued for several minutes. 

Rabb won the Democratic primary for the open 3rd Congressional District seat in Philadelphia in May and is expected to be favored in the general election.

The PA-03 seat is currently held by retiring Rep. Dwight Evans, 71, who announced last June that he would not seek reelection.
