Chester Barret and his son, Aaron, were out in a 34-foot scallop boat “Sudden Impact” on Saturday when they hit foul weather and never returned to port, News Center Maine reported.

The two departed Cobscook Bay State Park around 5 a.m. Saturday and headed out to sea, but still hadn’t returned by 5 p.m.

The search was suspended late Saturday due to poor visibility but resumed Sunday, with rescue boats and aircraft in the mix with Maine Marine Patrol, Canadian Coat Guard, Maine Forestry Service and other agencies taking part, the outlet reported.
