Passengers have faced delays at the Gold Coast Airport after a “security incident” affecting an entire flight.
Security protocols were activated following an isolated incident involving the screening of one passenger at the airport on Wednesday morning, according to an airport spokesman.
The incident impacted passengers on a flight bound for Sydney, causing delays as everyone had to go through screening again.
“As a precaution, passengers onboard one flight were rescreened in line with security protocol without further issue,” a spokesman said.
“Gold Coast Airport is working with its airline partners to manage the impact to customers.”
The spokesman said the incident caused some delays but operations resumed on Wednesday morning and had since returned to normal.
“We thank passengers for their patience during this time and will endeavor to get them on their way as soon as possible.”
