The Senate passed a bipartisan bill called the Protect College Sports Act in a 77–22 vote on Sept. 28.
The Protect College Sports Act will set national regulations governing payments to college athletes for their name, image, and likeness and how often they can transfer.
In a Truth Social post, President Donald Trump called the Senate’s passage of the bill “a really big deal.”
“It will not only save college sports, it will save the colleges themselves,” he said.
