The British jihadi bride who convinced her former classmate Shamima Begum to travel to Syria and join Isis has been discovered alive.
Sharmeena Begum, 27, was arrested in Syria as part of an investigation into the Berlin Pride attack in July, after police established that she had been in contact with the perpetrator, Abdul Ballout.
Sharmeena, who fled Britain as a schoolgirl in 2014, had long been presumed dead by her family.
Her father, Mohammed Nizam Uddin, told the Mail on Sunday: "I thought she had been killed in Syria. I am relieved that she is at least alive."

She was then tasked with forwarding this footage to the group's propaganda chief for online distribution.
Germany's federal criminal police, the BKA, subsequently shared her phone number with Western intelligence agencies, enabling them to locate her at a hideout inside Syria.
Sharmeena is understood to have played a pivotal role in persuading Shamima Begum to leave Britain and join the extremist group in Syria in February 2015.
While Shamima eventually abandoned Isis after their collapse in 2019 and sought to return to the UK, unsuccessfully, Sharmeena clung to her radical beliefs and retained influence within jihadist circles.

In 2023, speaking to an undercover reporter who was posing as an Isis sympathiser, she branded Shamima a "failure and non-believer" who had "ruined the image" of women who joined the terror organisation, and ridiculed her for wanting to "live off benefits" back in Britain.
Sharmeena is thought to have escaped from Al-Hol, a Kurdish-run internment camp in northern Syria.
She then raised £2,400 online, purportedly to help free other detained women and children from the camp network.
Sharmeena also had her British citizenship revoked several years ago, meaning she has no route back to the United Kingdom.
She now faces terrorism charges in Syria under President Ahmed al-Sharaa, a former militant leader whose own faction was a fierce adversary of Isis.
A conviction would most likely carry the death penalty, and in the meantime she risks being held in the country's notoriously brutal prison system.
Her father said: "What can I do? Everything is in God's hands. I won't be able to do anything, even if I want to.
"I won't be able to see her and she will not be able to come back here, so it's the same for me her being alive or dead."
