Meghan Markle's latest lifestyle venture has been branded "out of touch" and representative of the "Hollywood elite", as she is accused of "eroding the crown" with her latest money-making move.

The Duchess of Sussex launched a new online shop using the platform ShopMy, marking her latest venture into the commercial world since leaving the Royal Family.

The site features a "curated collection" of fashion and beauty items, and fans who purchase through her links will generate commission for Meghan, reportedly between 10 and 30 per cent depending on the item.

Despite these commercial activities, Meghan recently told People magazine she sees herself as an "entrepreneur and female founder" rather than an "influencer".

"So every single time she sells tat like that, she erodes a little bit of the crown," he added.

Taking aim at Meghan's lifestyle brand, As Ever, Foufas noted the packaging of the duchess's now famous jam, claiming that having a jar and a box is "not environmentally friendly".

He said: "I thought her jam came in a jar, so you don't need a box as well."

Fellow GB News commentator Charlie Downes delivered his verdict on the Duchess of Sussex, claiming that her business ventures are "out of touch" and representative of the "elite".

"As much as I agree that we shouldn't even be giving these people the attention they so clearly crave, I do think that every now and then these figures emerge who they capture something about the time we're living in," Downes said.

He described Meghan as a figure who "represents this very narcissistic, bourgeois Hollywood elite".

Downes added that she also "straddles this kind of woke browbeating, moralising, progressive politics".

"And also comes across as totally out of touch with this most recent fashion line that she's released shows us," he told GB News.

"As an object of study, I find Meghan Markle quite fascinating," Downes concluded.
