BUFFALO, N.Y., Sunday, Nov. 20.

Brig.-Gen. BARRY, Chief of Artillery of Maj. Gen. SHERMAN's army, arrived here yesterday, seriously ill from an attack of erysipelas.

Gen. BARRY left Gen. SHERMAN at 9 o'clock on the morning of the 12th inst. at Kingston, Ga.

Gen. BARRY says that Gen. SHERMAN has every cavalry, infantry and artillery soldier that he wants, and is certain of complete success.

The men are all in the highest spirits. They have all received eight months' pay. Their outfit has been especially adapted to a hard and rapid campaign.

The morale of the entire army is unequaled, and the vigor and determination of Gen. SHERMAN will push it triumphantly through the glorious work it has to do.

On Monday night last Gen. HOOD's entire force, including the rebel cavalry under Gen. FORREST, was in the immediate neighborhood of Tuscumbia and Florence, Ala., closely watched by a strong body of troops under the command of Maj-Gen. GEORGE H. THOMAS.

The force of Gen. THOMAS is of such strength as to render the invasion of Tennessee by the rebels an impossibility, and even the withdrawal of HOOD's force from his present position for service, will be an operation of the greatest delicacy and attended with much danger to him.

CINCINNATI, Monday, Nov. 21.

The Gazette has a special dispatch from Nashville which says: Military affairs remain unchanged and are comparatively quiet.

The rain continues and the roads are in bad condition.

Gens. BEAUREGARD and HOOD are still in the vicinity of Florence, Alabama.

Nine hundred rebel prisoners arrived at Nashville on Saturday morning from Atlanta. Thinking this place evacuated the rebels rushed in to pillage and plunder and were captured.
