A young man filming police as they confronted a group people early on Christmas Day was shot by an officer in Brazil.
The incident took place in Osasco, a city in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, and was captured on surveillance video.
Footage showed several officers from the military police arriving at the scene and being confronted by multiple people.
One of the officers is seen exiting his cruiser and removing a gun from his holster before shoving two people.
A second cruiser arrived when a woman tossed a cup filled with liquid at the officers.
A cop then rushed at a man who can be seen holding his cellphone out, and grabbed him while attempting to hit him with a baton.
The man took several steps back and disappeared from the security camera's view when the cop ran over and fired one shot.
The victim was taken to Antônio Giglio Hospital for treatment. A 40-year-old man was placed in police custody.
A 24-year-old man was seen in a surveillance footage recording a confrontation between residents and the military police before one cop nearly hit him with a baton and another shot him in Brazil early Wednesday

All four cops have been removed from active duty, the São Paulo Department of Public Security announced Thursday
The São Paulo Department of Public Security initially said in statement that a '24-year-old man tried to take a police officer's weapon, which led the officer to intervene.'
The surveillance video footage only showed the victim holding his mobile device with his right hand before he was nearly struck with the baton and then shot.
The São Paulo Department of Public Security then backtracked on its original statement after it saw the videos and authorities were reviewing footage from the scene.
'Misconduct is not tolerated by the corporation and all appropriate measures are taken in the event of abuse by police officers,' the department said.
Four officers involved were removed from duty Thursday afternoon.
The shooting was the latest to tarnish the image of the military police, a state-level law enforcement agency.
On December 2, a military police officer was caught on video throwing a delivery worker off a bridge during a traffic stop in the city of São Paulo.
The cop and 12 other members of the police force were removed from duty as part of the investigation.
