Disturbing new footage shows the moment a masked robber assaulted an employee and stole cash from a popular Sacramento taco stand at gunpoint.
Lisandro 'Chando' Madrigal, the owner of Chando's Tacos, detailed how a staff member had opened a door to take out the trash at closing time when the thief made his way in.

The unidentified mugger is also seen hitting her in the head about three times as she calmly unlocks the safe and hands over the cash while two other women look on.

During the robbery, a customer who had walked up to a window witnessed what was happening and quickly phoned the police
'They were about to take the trash out, kind of their nightly routine, the back door was open, the guy snuck in, then he asked for the money,' the saddened owner said.
'Then she wasn't as responsive to him as he wanted immediately. As you can see from the video, everybody was kind of like shocked and so he got a little more aggressive.
'Man, I wish it was me instead of her. I get kind of choked up because I know how hard it could be to be in that situation.
'We have protocols in place, panic buttons at all of our locations and kind of let people know it's not worth saving any cash.'

'He paid a little closer attention and noticed that they were just frozen, so he goes to another window and then sees what's happening. And that's the person who called the police,' Madrigal told KCRA.
The Sacramento Police Department has since launched a manhunt for the thief. No suspect has yet been identified.
After hearing of what had happened, passionate customers soon began to pouring in to provide support to the business.
Matt Hine told CBS: 'This is really unfortunate. [Chando's] is a staple here in Sacramento. It's been here forever. This is the original location.
'It's just really sad that people take advantage of a good family-owned business. When they arrest people there needs to be consequence. They can't just set up revolving doors.'

Brian Lopez, another taco lover, told KCRA : 'It's very disappointing to hear that they went through that and, you know, as a Latino-owned business, I would really like to support them and make sure that they're not impacted by that.'
Madrigal has since revealed that he and his employees are shaken up by the incident and he is now prioritizing protecting his employees and customers.
'I'm worried that things have kind of gotten to this point, but I guess this is the world we live in. We need to find this person because he hurts somebody, right, both emotionally and physically, and that's not cool,' he said.
