A woman in Missouri gave a shocking reason as to why she intentionally ran over a bank worker who was installing Christmas lights.
While a crew was installing the lights at a closed drive-thru section of Sullivan Bank in St Clair, 41-year-old Jemma Allen attempted to drive into the area at around 9.30am on Monday.
When the workers tried to explain the area was closed, Allen became enraged and began arguing before she swore at one of the workers, according to police.
As one of the workers bent over to pick up a tote, she accelerated and struck the victim.
The St. Clair Police Department said in a press release: 'The victim fell onto the hood of the KIA and held on to the hood as Allen accelerated the KIA through the parking lot. As Allen accelerated, the victim was flung off of the hood of the KIA, onto the ground.'
The victim was transported to Mercy Washington hospital and was left with visible bruises but no apparent broken bones, according to a probable cause statement, reported the Kansas City Star.
She sped away but was later tracked down by police, who arrested and charged her with second-degree assault and resisting felony arrest.
'During the arrest, Allen attempted to pull away from officers but was quickly secured without further incident,' said police.

Allen was booked to Franklin County Adult Detention Center and was released on Tuesday after posting $100,000 bond.
This comes days after the trial of another dangerous driver who killed a bride on her wedding night.
Jamie Lee Komoroski, 26, was seen weeping in court as she admitted to reckless homicide in Charleston, South Carolina, on Monday, after killing 34-year-old Samantha Miller in April 2023.
She also pleaded guilty to felony DUI and two counts of DUI causing greater bodily injury or death.
'On the night of April 22, 2023, I chose to drink and drive which resulted in the death of Samantha Miller,' Komoroski told the court.
'This is the worst decision I have ever made in my life. Due to my poor decisions a beautiful wife, sister and mother was taken... all I can say is how incredibly remorseful I am.'
Miller's new husband, Aric Hutchinson, was also badly injured after being struck by Komoroski while he and his new wife rode on a golf cart following their Folly Beach wedding.
Komoroski was driving at 65 mph at the time of the crash and her blood-alcohol content was reportedly three times the legal limit at the time of the crash.

Miller's new husband Aric Hutchinson was also badly injured after being struck by Komoroski
Miller tragically died at the scene of the crash - just hours after she exchanged vows with Hutchinson - still wearing her wedding dress.
Hutchinson, who survived the crash, suffered two broken legs, extensive facial fractures, and traumatic brain injuries.
Komoroski looked somber as she entered the courtroom to admit crimes that could see her jailed for 25 years. She also did not strike a plea deal, meaning a judge does not have to show her leniency for sparing Miller's family a trial.
Komoroski apologized to the family and said she will always be embarrassed by her actions.
'I want them to know how sorry I am for the bottom of my heart and that I take full responsibility for my actions. I will always be devastated, deeply ashamed and terribly sorry for what I have done,' she said.
