Shots have rang out in Ceuta as thousands of illegal migrants have charged through the enclave to get to a new camp.
Thousands of migrants were seen in the streets as police attempted to move them to a new camp.
Most of the migrants travelled to Spanish territory from Morocco and had been sleeping rough while an official camp was being set up.
According to local media, crowds grew impatient when only a few officials arrived to control the move.
They began running towards the new camp at around 7am on Friday.
The camp did not have enough space for all the migrants seeking a place, which caused a stampede.
According to El País, tensions rose as more officers arrived, and a crush ensued as the migrants tried to reach the designated route.
Police fired shots into the air, used tear gas, and struck several people in an attempt to control the crowds.

Around 150 officers were used to control the crowd, walking groups on the journey from Benítez and El Trampolín beaches to the port camp.
The vast majority of migrants are thought to have arrived when 72,000 migrants stormed the enclave in July.
Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the President of the People’s Party and leader of the Spanish opposition, said: “The Government is incapable of maintaining public order in a Spanish city.
“Things couldn’t get any worse, and Ceuta is a powder keg.

“We’ve been saying this for some time now, and the situation is unsustainable.”
Spain has stated that most migrants who were involved in the July incident have been returned shortly afterwards; however, around 5,000 remain in the small Spanish enclave.
It comes just hours after a senior Vox politician told GB News two Spanish soldiers have had to be evacuated due to injuries after brawls with migrants.
Carlos Flores, a member of Spain’s Congress of Deputies, said the Spanish Government had “lost control” over part of the country’s territory.
Mr Flores told GB News: “The situation has been out of control from the very beginning.
“The Government has lost control over a portion of our national territory. We are seeing as we are being invaded; we are watching the invasion of our territory on our own TV sets.
“The Government has been unable to reverse the situation throughout the month and a half that has passed since the invasion took place.
“Invaders are fighting against each other for food, for water, for control of the mob. We are receiving news about aggressions against the Spanish police forces and even the army,” he said.
“Only today, two members of the Spanish armed forces had to be evacuated to the peninsula due to the injuries they suffered yesterday.”
Two soldiers remain in hospital in Madrid after allegedly being assaulted by migrants while deployed in Ceuta, Spanish publication Democrata reported.
