While property companies can help create good homes and workplaces conducive to happiness, one developer in Hong Kong is seeking to contribute to the community in other ways as well.
Sino Group has collaborated with Operation Santa Claus (OSC), an annual charity fundraising initiative held by the South China Morning Post and public broadcaster RTHK, since 2005 to help local charities create social impact.
In an interview last month, Nikki Ng Mien-hua, director of philanthropy at the group, said: “2024 marked the 20th consecutive year of partnership between Sino Group and OSC.
“In the Christmas season, a time for love and giving, there is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with OSC to embrace the joy and gratitude of the holidays. We are delighted to spread warmth, share the festive spirit and nurture an inclusive and caring society.”
Throughout their long-term partnership, Sino Group had made donations to OSC to support its beneficiaries and worked closely with it to organise diverse festive activities centred on education, sustainability and support for ethnic minority groups. The events fostered creativity, promoted environmental awareness and encouraged cross-cultural interaction to help bridge community gaps, Ng said.
