Snakes in the mail: Hong Kong police probe parcel with 10 reptiles for Australia

Hong Kong police are investigating a case involving a parcel destined for Australia found to contain 10 reptiles.

A logistics company manager contacted police for help at around 9.30am on Wednesday morning, according to the force.

Company staff discovered five lizards and five snakes inside a parcel during an X-ray, police said, citing the manager.

The parcel was sent by a man and meant to be delivered to Australia.

The force added that it contacted the Agricultural, Fisheries and Conservation Department for help.
