Sony headphones are hitting record lows on October Prime Day: Shop XM6, XM5, and budget headphones

Table of Contents

You might not have felt ready for the holiday shopping season, which has kicked off with Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days — aka October Prime Day — but we know what you are ready for: an upgraded set of headphones.

Audio and noise-cancellation technology advances so quickly that new headphone models come out thick and fast, sounding better all the time.

If you're in the market for an upgrade but you don't know where to start, Sony is arguably the best all-rounder brand, delivering the best sound you'll find in everyday headphone tech and some of the most effective noise cancellation that money can buy.

They don't come cheap, of course, which is why October Prime Day is a can't-miss opportunity to pick up an excellent pair of Sony cans at an also-excellent price. Price drops may continue as the 48-hour sale rolls on (it runs Oct. 6-7), but we've already spotted great deals on a selection of key Sony models, including some all-time record lows.

Standouts include flagship Sony WH-1000XM6 returning to its lowest-ever price, as well as a new record price on the earbuds. And if you're specifically wanting noise cancellation, the previous-gen Sony WH-1000XM5 gives you the most bang for your buck, with a massive $200-plus discount and ANC that's as good as the upgraded model. That's another all-time low price, by the way.

Keep checking back for updates, but for now these are the best Sony headphones deals for Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days.

The best October Prime Day Sony deal

Why we like it

The Sony WH-1000XM6 is the latest iteration of Sony's flagship line and pretty much the best of the best. Sony's noise cancellation is a class leader, and these offer its best ever performance, adapting to external noise in real-time and ensuring you're immersed in your tunes to a level that suits you. For instance, Auto Ambient Sound Mode keeps you in tune with your surroundings, or you can adjust the ANC levels in the Sound Connect.

That noise-canceling tech combines with detailed, finely engineered audio — the signature sound that marks Sony as the standout name in consumer audio technology (for audiophile quality sound, you can get $51.99 off the Sony 1000X The Collexion headphones).

Mashable Deals

The current discounted price of $378 is the lowest the Sony WH-1000XM6 has been priced at since June. We don't expect them to drop any lower just yet, so now's the time to grab them.
