Southport killer taken to Broadmoor as authorities admit he ‘cannot be managed safely’ behind bars

Southport killer Axel Rudakabana has been moved to Broadmoor secure hospital, the Ministry of Justice confirmed.

Those held at Broadmoor are treated as psychiatric patients instead of prisoners.

The 19-year-old was jailed for life in January 2025, with a minimum sentence of 52 years, after killing Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, Bebe King, six, and Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine.
