Stellar Blade: Blood Rain protagonist Evie will have even more “appealing outfits” than Eve, according to Shift Up CEO Kim Hyung-tae.
The original Stellar Blade certainly didn’t shy away from the fanservice department, with android protagonist Eve providing enough eye candy opportunities that give Nier: Automata’s 2B a run for her money.
It’s safe to say Eve’s revealing wardrobe didn’t exactly leave much to the imagination (we’re looking at you, Skin Suit). However, Stellar Blade director Kim Hyung-tae has now revealed that the sequel’s protagonist, Evie, will push things even further.
Evie will have more fanservice outfits than Eve
During an interview with IGN, Kim said Shift Up has no plans to tone things down when it comes to Evie’s outfit designs. “It will be even more appealing,” Kim said, before adding: “That’s all we can say.”
Kim also addressed the decision to introduce Evie as the new protagonist instead of bringing Eve back for the sequel. According to the director, the answer is directly tied to the story, but there will be answers for Eve fans.
“We cannot tell you everything right now because this would be a spoiler, but once you have played the sequel, you will see that Eve’s backstory will be more memorable. It will be more attractive in a way,” said Kim.
SHIFT UP“If you did play the first one, you will see a lot of points here and there, very memorable and impressive moments where it’s like, ‘Oh, so that’s what happened. That’s what it turned out to be,’” the director continued.
Kim’s comments also come hot off the back of his explanations as to why he intentionally designed Evie to be younger and shorter, revealing that it all boils down to one main reason.
While Stellar Blade: Blood Rain doesn’t currently have a release date, be sure to check out the biggest releases revealed during the PlayStation State of Play, Summer Game Fest, Xbox Games Showcase, and Nintendo Direct.
